Speaking about ostriches, we
recollect Africa and Australia. In encyclopedias it is spoken that in due time
ostriches lived and in Eurasia. During centuries people hunted on ostriches.
Them it is mentioned in national folklore. However, since 80-90- years of the
last century ostriches again come back to Eurasia. In Turkey, Russia, Ukraine,
the Western Europe, China and other countries are created ostriches farms. The
number of these countries includes also Azerbaijan. Here there is the largest
ostiches farm in territory of the CIS. The most ancient source of the information
on dwelling ostriches in territory of Eurasia is in China. In them it is spoken
that ostriches lived in China in I-II centuries up to B.C. In scientific researches
of Russia " Flor animal " it is spoken that earlier ostriches lived in a southern
part of Ukraine, Kazakhstan and the Central Asia. In folklore of people of these
countries there were sayings about ostriches. Not casually many people name
these birds " similar to camels " For example, " struthio camelus " in a literal
translation with latin the ostrich means. Till 20th years XX of century in territory
of Eurasia ostriches lived basically in Syria and in the north of the Arabian
open spaces. In the end 19 beginning of 20 centuries has begun a mass destruction
of ostriches. Europeans hunted on ostriches only for their feathers. In the
Russian editions of those times, in 1875 only from the Incorporated Arab Emirates
it has been taken out ostrich's feathers on 2 million 325 thousand roubles.
At that time 1 Russian rouble was equal to 1 gram of gold. It approximately
made 2,3 tons of gold and on this money in Australia it was possible to buy
500 sheeps. Here two years as in Azerbaijan it is created ostriches. According
to the founder of Open Company " Ostrich " Ali Bajramova in a basis of its activity
interest lays: " I was interested in these birds since early years. Later, I
have paid attention that grow up them on farms, to quality of their meat, a
leather, feathers. I have gone to Turkey to collect more information on birds,
have visited on farms in Toqat, Lulya-Burgaze. Then in Russia and China. I have
studied technology of cultivation of these birds. Having seen such farms in
Belarus, Kazakhstan and Ukraine, I have decided to create such facilities and
in Azerbaijan".
In April, 2004 Ali Bayramov has started creation ostrich farms.
For this purpose from the republic of South Africa have been brought 200 ostriches,
60 of which thoroughbred, but others hemales and young ostriches . Now its totaled
about 1000 birds on a farm. We shall note, that its a farm is the largest in
all territory of the former USSR as duplication of ostriches is carried out
here, on a farm. In Russia, birds bring from the republic of South Africa -
nearby 2000. The face is carried out and in 4-5 months . It cannot be named
the present ostriches. Present ostrich is a preservation of breed, a laying
of eggs, cultivation from them young individuals and as a result - reception
of flight of thoroughbred ostriches
